The reactions to Meghan Markle’s birth plan raise the question about who owns the Royal baby

The reactions to Meghan Markle’s birth plan raise questions about her right to privacy

The royal baby is imminent! It’s felt that way for months now as interest around Meghan Markle’s pregnancy has grown, but the day is almost upon us. There’s so much excitement in the air for the seventh in line to the throne, but not everyone is jumping for joy over the baby. It seems that some people have had their enthusiasm dampened by Meghan’s decision to do almost nothing by the book.
Although royal births have typically followed the same traditions, baby Sussex won’t arrive in a similar fashion as their ancestors. Meghan and Harry have opted for a more private birth, with the Duchess set to welcome her child in the privacy of her home. It’s unknown when we’ll get a first glimpse of the baby because the couple has refused to do a photo op right after the birth, and that hasn’t gone down well with members of the public. It seems people feel a strong sense of ownership over the child – and the royals as a whole – and its brought up the question of whose baby actually is this?

People love the Royal Family. That’s pretty clear from the way the public reacts every time someone from the monarchy gets married or gives birth. However, while the family might receive a lot of support, they also get a lot of criticism.
Obsessed with the royals

This is something that happens to anyone in the public eye, but the royals seem to get slammed more than most people. It can be hard to do anything right in that family.
