August 2017 arrived, and Lily was all set for her surgery at the Centre for Spinal and Neurosurgery at Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital. After spending a vacation in the scorching heat earlier in the year, Lily was done trying to hide her back.

Instead of being incredibly nervous about the operation, Lily was now eager to get on the operating table. Lily underwent the surgery and came through unscathed, the surgeons had worked their magic, and hopefully the teenager would have a new lease of life when she recovered.
