M. C. Gainey was actually in the original TV series of The Dukes of Hazzard back in the ‘70s. He only featured in one episode of the show, but in the 2005 movie, Gainey played Sheriff Rosco. Although he was meant to be upholding the law, Rosco was working with Boss Hogg to take down the Duke operations to benefit Hogg’s. Rosco acts as a henchman for Hogg, doing the dirty work the rival moonshine smuggler doesn’t want to do himself.
