After Rio, Abbey had to undergo surgery in order to repair her torn ACL and meniscus in her right knee. After recovering, she began training again in March and April 2017. Unfortunately, not long after she returned to the track, she strained her right hamstring, stalling her again. However, she is still determined to get back to track competitions.
