It’s common knowledge that public displays of affection are very frowned upon when it comes to the love between couples themselves. However, the monarchy is also told to avoid hugging and kissing members of the public.
That might sound like a cold-hearted rule, but not to worry, a lot of the Royal Family do it anyway. Just like here, where you can see the Duchess of Cambridge reaching down to hug someone she met at a royal visit. The joyous smiles on their faces show this kind of affection can be important.
