Stanford was recently ranked as the no. 1 university for sports fans by Times’ Money Magazine and Sports Illustrated. The university, from which Katie Ledecky hails, has had 47 different Olympic athletes represent the USA over the last 16 years. They’ve also won 17 national titles over the last decade. They’ve won the Director’s Cup, awarded to the best overall sports program, several times. Jim Harbaugh coached at Stanford, Andrew Luck led the football team for three years and the Lopez brothers starred for their basketball team.
