Michael Jordan may have been Brooklyn born, but he was raised in North Carolina. So it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise that he decided to play ball for the University of North Carolina starting in the 1981-82 season. Jordan stayed at the University for three seasons, averaging 17.7 PPG, including 20.0 PPG and 19.6 PPG during his latter two years, adding 5.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists for his career. During his tenure there he won AP Player of the year in 1983-84 and two consensus All Americans, as well as an NCAA Championship.
