Actors who quit big roles for ridiculous reasons

Just because someone is directing a film for the first time, it doesn’t mean the film will do poorly. Take the movie The Shawshank Redemption for instance. Frank Darabont was directing for the first time.

Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise was offered the role Andy Dufresne but refused to join the cast unless a more experienced director, Rob Reiner, signed on instead. Darabont refused to back down so Tim Robbins took on the role instead. The movie received seven Academy Awards and is one of the most highly regarded films in history. Huge mistake Tom!
