[post_page_title]Wallis Simpson[/post_page_title]
Born in the sleepy Southern Pennsylvania town of Blue Ridge Summit, Wallis Simpson’s life was destined for bigger things. After two failed marriages, Wallis’s life had been tough but seemingly ordinary. However in 1931 while on a trip to London, Wallis was introduced to British Prince Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor.
They remained in a closeted courtship for many years – she was often regarded as the Prince’s mistress. More controversy hit with the passing of George V in 1936, when the Prince abdicated the throne, instead, seeking a relationship with the still-married Wallis. It was a scandalous affair, disapproved by the Royal family greatly. However, the two remained married until the Prince’s passing in 1972.
