An 18-foot python has given everyone the slip and is on the loose in Poland

There was soon to be another clue of how Bertha might have come to end up in the wild. Someone spotted an advert from back in February 2018, and it sounded too good to be true.

An anonymous seller was advertising for someone to care for a 20-year old female python as the original owner had passed away. The snake was now 19-and-a-half feet, or six meters, long, but no one was able to take her on as their pet. The best bit? Her name was Bertha.
