Sister Marie Osmond, for example, also had her fair share of financial troubles. One day, at the hight of her fame in the mid-70s, while she was studying acting, she got the call that changed her life.

It was her mother, Olive Osmond on the line, with terrible news she had to tell her. Apparently, all of Marie’s money was gone. “All of it, everything,” she recalled in an interview. She went from wearing designer clothes to going to non-brand ones. She also dewed her “own sequins and doing all those things, so [she] could go out and work again.”
