By the late 60s, the novelty of their variety show act was starting to wear off, and now a little older, the brothers wanted to turn their attention to the pop music world, more importantly, rock ‘n’ roll.
The brothers still continued to perform, but a change was needed to ensure their careers continued to peak within entertainment. This eventually came in the form of record producer Mike Curb, who proposed a record contract with MGM to the boys and their father.
