The win for Ashley was her first ever, but this wasn’t the only first of the day. Defeating her father also meant that she was also the first ever woman to win the Funny Car title, and was the second quickest of all the racers on the day – what an achievement! Her time was 4.8 seconds, so it’s no surprise she claimed the title on the day, and luckily her dad was there to join in the celebrations (and commiserations) all at once!
