One cool thing that has popped up on the Internet in recent years is GoFundMe-type websites. Being able to reach out to people when you are in times of need and get some extra funding is a cool thing, and it’s nice for donators to be able to directly help people rather than relying on organizations to distribute their money.
There is a downside, of course, and that is people who abuse these systems. This person said they were fired to get some extra cash, but it was quickly revealed that they actually quit.
