New scam has been targeting owners of lost dogs

The problem seems to be growing at a rapid rate, and DogLost were moved to spread the word. The organization contacted the Liverpool Echo, a newspaper responsible for the Merseyside region of the UK.

DogLost wanted people to know that this is becoming a nationwide problem and gave a warning that the poorly written text messages are a scam. The people sending these messages likely don’t know anything about the whereabouts of people’s dogs as they wouldn’t ask for more money than around $30 for their troubles.
