New scam has been targeting owners of lost dogs

Owners of small dogs beware! Small dogs are the most commonly stolen breeds as they are targeted by those who are engaged in dog fighting. The smaller dogs are used as bait, which helps to get the fighting dogs riled up and ready to tear a bigger dog limb from limb.

Dog fighting pits two dogs against each other in a horrific conflict until one is seriously injured, passes away from their wounds, or finds a way to escape the ring. The dogs that escape are generally fleeing for their lives as they are cruelly thrust into fights at the hands of their owners, all in the name of some petty gambling.
