New scam has been targeting owners of lost dogs

When speaking on the phone with Lauren, the caller told the anxious dog owner that they knew where her pup was. Lauren had no way of knowing for sure that this person really knew anything about her dog, and for all she knew they were just trying their luck.

They might have known nothing about Lola and were just hoping Lauren would send them some money. Lauren believes that stealing a dog is worse than taking a possession, as you can’t replace a dog like you can a TV or jewelry.
