Joseph Sakic is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played his 21-year professional career with the Quebec Nordiques/Colorado Avalanche franchise. The NHL All-Star, who is widely recognized as one of the 100 greatest in history, met Debbie in the ‘80s. He had left his hometown to stay with a host family in Saskatchewan, Canada while playing for a junior hockey team. Later on, they would marry and have three children. The pair has stuck together through thick and thin.
