Asking out someone you’re interested in is hard enough without the added pressure of inviting them to a dance. It’s not always easy to know if they’re into you or not, and the last thing you want to do is make a fool of yourself. If the person you ask is a friend, you risk destroying your relationship if they say no.
However, when you’re interested in someone, being around them is just as painful if you’re not completely honest about your feelings. At times, it can feel like a catch-22 situation, and there’s no right answer for what to do. Sometimes, you simply have to take the plunge and hope you get a yes. Sure, you might get turned down, but is that as bad as spending the rest of your life pondering the what ifs?
