When Jimi Hendrix tragically passed at the young age of 27 in 1970, his career as a rock guitarist, singer and songwriter had only been considered mainstream for four years. However, he is one of the most celebrated and influential guitarists of all time, with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame describing Hendrix as the ‘greatest instrumentalist’ in rock.
To this day, the Hendrix estate has engaged with Hendrix’s fans through a number of posthumous releases, including the box set ‘Winterland’ in 2011, two live-show DVDs and a steady streaming of the rock legend’s music.
