The American singer, songwriter and record producer, Martin Gaye, is credited with helping shape the sounds of the record label Motown. In 1982, Gaye’s album ‘Midnight Love’ won him his first two Grammy Awards.

In 1984, however, he was involved in an incident which ultimately resulted in his passing. Posthumously, he as been the recipient of a number of awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as has been inducted into the Rhythm and Blues Music Hall of Fame, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame.
