Ray Charles was the American musician who is considered to have been a pioneer in the soul music genre in the 1950s. Throughout his career, he was the recipient of seventeen Grammys, as well as a number of other awards.
Two months after his passing in 2004, his album ‘Genius’ was released and quickly became the best-selling album of Charles’ career, with over 1.2 million copies sold. His estate has also made over $10 million posthumously, due to his music sales and the 2004 biopic released starring Jaime Foxx titled ‘Ray.’
