Working the checkout counter isn’t something that a lot of people aspire to do. The monotonous task of scanning item after item for hours at a time can get mighty tedious, especially if you have to make small talk with every customer you serve.
This job has clearly become too much for this worker who can barely crack a smile during her shift. The irony is that at the moment this photo was taken, she was scanning an item with the word ‘hope’ on it. Perhaps she should buy some for herself.
