Storm did more than just drag the fawn from the water, though. Once they were on dry land, the dog refused to leave the fawn’s side. The fawn was clearly distressed from his near drowning and Storm attempted to calm her down. Storm lay down with the fawn in the sand and licked it in order to provide comfort.

The fawn desperately needed medical attention, which was on the way, and there was nothing else to do while they waited. Storm understood that, but he wanted to care for the fawn in the meanwhile. Storm’s owner Mark Freely explained that it was obvious that Storm was worried about the fawn and wanted to help in any way he could.
