This Golden retriever ran into the ocean to try and save a drowning fawn

Unfortunately, the adventure for the day was not quite over yet. Once the rescue team showed up, the fawn became frightened and ran back into the ocean. Storm, unfortunately, was too tired to battle the strong waves and freezing temperatures for a second time. So, instead, Frankie Floridia from the Strong Island Animal Rescue League went out to save the baby deer – again.

Rescue take two

Frankie said that trekking out in that freezing water made him appreciate what Storm did when he initially rescued the fawn. The distressed deer tried to fight Frankie, causing him to blow out his knee. However, Frankie persevered, bad knee and all, and the second rescue was successful. Frankie and his coworker Erica Kutzing were then able to take the fawn to a shelter to recuperate.
