This Golden retriever ran into the ocean to try and save a drowning fawn

Mark Freely recorded a video on his phone of Storm carrying the fawn back to safety. 5.5 million people watched the video and were touched by this selfless act. Storm was thrust into the spotlight with many articles written about him and his heroic actions. Several local and national TV networks brought the dog and his owner on as guests. Suffolk County’s Executive Steve Bellone gave Storm a proclamation that praised him for his good work.

National recognition

Many people were touched when hearing Storm’s story and felt inspired by his actions. With all of the violence in the world, Storm’s selfless act restored people’s faith in the world. His owner says that the fame has not gone to his head. Storm is still a regular dog who enjoys long walks along the beach.
