The 32-year-old will be a free agent come the offseason, and will have to improve some of his numbers if he wants to cash in on a nice paycheck next season as well. His current numbers don’t seem to justify his $23 million. So far he’s earned nearly $60 million over the last nine seasons, and in 2018, is the top paid 3rd baseman in the majors.
