When USA Hockey Team player Bret Hedican first met figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi at the 1992 Winter Olympics, only Yamaguchi won a gold medal. Hedican still won out, though – he met his future wife! They didn’t start dating until three years later, however, when both attended a promotional event.
They were married in 2000, and have two girls together. And just so you don’t feel too bad for Hedican – he ended up winning the Stanley Cup in 2006. Yamaguchi has an $8 million net worth, while the 18-year NHL veteran has $2 million.
