How Alyssa Milano 'charmed' her way into our hearts

As she grew up in her Brooklyn neighborhood, she listened to the stories that her mother and father would come home from work with, and she would envisage the glamorous life of the rich and famous. However, she never thought of becoming an actress.

In fact, Alyssa’s entrance into the world of acting was not by her own hand or that of her parents. When she was just 7 years old, Alyssa’s babysitter decided to go behind her parents’ back to take her to an audition while they were out.

It was here that Alyssa was given lines from the popular musical, Annie, to read – and it was here that she auditioned for a main role within the national touring company. Although she had no previous acting experience, Milano was one of four youngsters selected from a pool of 1,500 youngsters.
