Maryland may have changed conferences, but their athletics program continues to succeed. Overall, Maryland has won 31 conference championships over the last decade, including the women’s Big Ten Tournament Championship in March 2017. The men’s team won the NCAA national championship in 2002, made two Final Four appearances, four Elite Eight appearances, and 26 NCAA tournament appearances. Their football program has also been successful, but not as successful as basketball. So if you prefer hoops over the gridiron, this school is for you.
