Famous stars whose ancestors are even more famous than they are

We mostly remember Sarah Jessica Parker from her iconic role as New York fashionista Carrie Bradshaw on SATC. Delving a little deeper into her filmography, however, we’ll find the 1993 horror comedy Hocus Pocus. Parker starred alongside Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy, with the trio playing three witches inadvertently resurrected in Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween. Seems far-fetched? Not nearly. Parker’s real-life tenth great-grandmother, Esther Elwell, was actually charged with witchcraft in 1692. In fact, her detention was evidently the last of its kind to be reported during the infamous Salem Witch Trials.
