Although Rafer Johnson became well known in the 1960 Olympics when he won a gold medal in the decathlon (as well as in 1956 when he won silver), he eventually started branching out into other industries, such as acting. One of the films he appeared in was License to Kill, the 1989 James Bond film where he starred alongside Timothy Dalton. He was also rewarded with the Athletes in Excellence award from the Foundation for Global Sports Development in 2014, in return for his commendable community service work.
