Let’s also not forget his legendary 3-point contest, in which he raised his hand in celebration, before the winning basket even went in. Sometimes you just know. Bird was the best player in the league for a three year stretch from 1984-86, when he won the league MVP all three seasons. He also helped the Celtics capture three championships in the process.
