In 1958, eight Manchester United players lost their lives as the plane they were traveling in crashed. The two teams stood in silence as a mark of respect for their fallen colleagues observing a perfect silence among some 70,000 fans packed into Mancher United’s stadium, Old Trafford. This just goes to show that despite any rivalry, players and fans are all humans at the end of the day and some things are more important than sport.
