Derek Jeter may be loved in New York. But at the moment, he’s not getting that same warm feeling from fans in South Beach, even if it is hot and sunny year round. When Jeter popped up on the jumbotron at a Miami Heat game, the fans booed the former MVP. It probably has to do with the fact that he plans to trade away the current MVP, Miami slugger Giancarlo Stanton, who signed a contract with the team in 2014 worth $325 million over 13 years. In Jeter’s defense, rumors of Stanton’s trade started even before the former Yankee purchased the team, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be blamed for it when the MVP puts on another uniform.
