As Selena grew more adult with her music and acting, she seemed to separate herself further from the way she grew up. The star has always had a relationship with God, but during her teen years, she was particularly devoted to religion.

At 13 years old, she asked for a purity ring which she later received from her father. She wore it for five years before deciding it was no longer for her. Coincidentally, this was around the same time that Selena started up her relationship with Justin Bieber.
