A Wisconsin native, Rose Namajunas used the long, cold winters of the north to train in mixed martial arts and kickboxing as a kid. Beginning at the age of 16, she began training with famous trainer Duke Rufus, and she eventually found her way into a career with it. Namajunas began by fighting in the Invicta league, leading UFC scouts to sign her on to The Ultimate Fighter. She then signed on to UFC, beating Joanna Jedrzejczyk, and winning the Strawweight belt.
