Cinderella Man is another underdog story, also set during the Great Depression. In the film, ex-boxer Jim Braddock, Russell Crowe,  is approached by his former manager who presents to him a one-time opportunity to face one of the era’s rising stars. He eventually returns to the ring and looks to fight the defending champion, Max Baer. During the movie’s boxing scene, Baer wears a robe bearing his own name. But in reality, Baer walked into the arena with a robe reading “Steve Morgan,” a prop from a 1933 movie.
