Nowadays it can be very hard to stand out in your profession and still look good, but way back in the 50s work attire was completely different — for example, the dress code for Pan Am flight attendants was literally a “dress” code, with the navy blue skirt suits, white gloves, and cocked beret all mandatory displays of their chosen line of work.

You’d think the uniformity would make photos of the era seem boring, but instead one gentleman discovered his mom looked incredibly sharp, slightly exotic, and ridiculously cool back in her day.
