When she was younger, Kelly Holmes watched some of the great British middle-distance runners on her television screen and knew that she had the ability to beat them. So, she took up running when she was a child, and put hard work, time and effort into her craft before she was able to compete professionally. It’s pretty clear to see that the hard work paid off, as Kelly has won a whopping 2 Olympic gold medals, and one bronze. She has also won two Commonwealth gold medals, which sit atop her rather full shelf.
