But still, someone may try to actually block a free throw, or interfere on a second while waiting for a rebound. Goaltending a free throw, though, results in a technical foul. Back in 2008, Kentucky’s head coach actually ordered his players to goal-tend a free throw, so the clock would stop. The play backfired in his face.
