Sapphire is one of the groupies who follow Stillwater around on tour. Much like the other girls, she takes a shine to William and decides to look out for him, even if she has a habit of getting him into trouble. She made the mistake of answering the phone when his mother called and asked if she was the woman delivering their illegal substances. After Elaine sets Sapphire clear and asks her to give William a message, the groupie assures her that her son is in good hands.

She tells her the teenager is enjoying himself and doing good work, and that he’s yet to sleep with anyone. Despite this, though, Sapphire and the other girls later get William into bed when he’s busy talking to Penny. However, she still has his best interests at heart and is ultimately the one responsible for getting Russell to visit him at home.
