Many of the abandoned pit bulls end up making their way to various shelters. That is if they are even let through the doors. Many shelters know they have a bad reputation which can make the breed extremely difficult to rehome. Perhaps that’s why so many shelters refuse to accept the dogs?

To top it off, many are then faced with a tough decision. The pit bulls then become another mouth to feed. Without the chance of them ever getting a home, more of the breed are put to sleep than all other dogs combined.
