The goalkeeper for the USA Women’s soccer team, Hope Solo is a two-time Olympic gold-medalist and a World Champion who was on the USA team from 2000 through 2016. The US team defeated the French team 4-2, and Japan 2-1, to achieve a gold medal.
She is known for making the save in the Japan game that could have either evened the score or lose the game for the American team. She had long-sustaining injury in her wrist she went into surgery to repair immediately following the Olympics.
