Only 17 at the 2012 Olympic Games, Missy Franklin amazed crowds with her sharp and steady abilities, earning her a reputation of a swimmer with much more experience than she actually has.
Franklin holds American records as well as the world record in 200 meter backstroke, and following her debut at the Olympics, appeared in the TV drama Pretty Little Liars. A 2014 documentary called Touch the Wall was made about her. The film was noted for its celebration of female physical and emotional strength.
