The Olympic gold was just the beginning of brilliance for Jordan. His rookie year in the Association, at just 21-years-old, he came out roaring, averaging 28.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 2.4 steals for the season. His PPG average was third behind Bernard King and Larry Bird. Even more important, MJ helped the Bulls win 11 more games than they did the previous season. He was selected to the All-NBA Second Team and on May 16, 1985 was awarded the Rookie of the Year Award.
