In January 2017, John Cena paid nearly $500,000 for a Ford GT supercar which he then tried to sell on for a profit not long after. When he purchased the car, he signed a contract stating that he would own the car for two years, becoming a kind of ambassador for the brand. When he then tried to sell the car, Ford were not happy. They filed a lawsuit against the star for breaching his contract, saying that they had lost “two years of ambassadorship and brand value” that Cena would have given, had he not tried to sell it on.
