Byron Nelson won 18 golf tournaments in 1945 and 11 of those wins were in a row. Both of those statistics, the 18 in a year and 11 in a row are records that have yet to be broken. His 11th win in the streak was a four-stroke win at the Canadian Open. Nelson finally lost at the Memphis Open, and came in fourth (Fred Haas won the tournament). After he lost, Nelson was quoted as saying he was relieved because he was tired.
