Because her mother was apparently living vicariously through her, Chrisoula would do anything she could to make Ariel a star. She would allegedly push her daughter into roles that she may not have wanted to do, and she tried to make her daughter more appealing.

When she was barely a teenager, Ariel was wearing full faces of makeup, perfectly quaffed hair, and dresses and outfits that showed off her body. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ariel notes that “People thought I was 24 when I was 12.”
