I have to say, I am always incredibly impressed by drivers who try to fix their car’s problems on their own using some clever improvisational skills. I once had a customer rig up a dipstick stop with nothing but a bottle cap.
I also had someone use a lid of chewing tobacco as a DIY coolant cap. One time, someone who was having issues with their door not staying shut found a way to keep it closed by rolling both windows down and securing it with a belt.
